Meet our Operations Manager, Leigh Cusack

What is your role? What do you do?

I'm the Operations Manager at Revive. I'm responsible for overseeing all aspect of our projects - everything from quoting and scheduling to coordinating the tradies on site.

What do you love about the new brand?

Everything - it's simple but bold - it gives customers an instant impression of what we're all about.

How long have you been with Revive?

Dave and I have been working together for over 15 years. We started a painting company together back in 2008 and the business has grown steadily. In recent years, our clients have asked us if we can provide other trades as part of our service. Since then, we have slowly incorporated plumbing, electrical, HVAC and plastering to name a few. At the end of 2019, we saw that our brand didn't reflect our extensive service offering and so Revive Building Solutions was born. 

What makes Revive different to other building companies?

We're a small business, with big business capabilities. This allows us to remain flexible throughout our projects and if we hit a speedbump, we can adapt and make changes easily without the red tape, so projects can keep moving. We've been in the construction industry for almost 30 years and we're picky about the trades we use on our projects. Quality and safety are at the forefront of what we do and our trades support those values 100%.

What are some of the interesting projects you’ve worked across?

That we are agile. We're able to offer all the services of larger building companies but with the flexibility and customer service of a small, local business. We are about building relationships. The work always follows.

What are some of the interesting projects you've worked across?

The refurbishment of factories and warehouses has always been interesting and challenging. We have specialist tradespeople and equipment to accommodate these large sites. I have a background in estimating, which certainly comes in handy when quoting these types of projects and understanding the costs and pre-empting challenges that may arise.

What stands out for you in being able to revive spaces via smaller or larger scale building projects?

I think we have a unique approach to the job at hand. It doesn’t matter how big or small the job is, they are all equally important to the end user and to us – they need to be functional and safe, while also adding value to the space. Customers have different needs, whether it be sticking to budget constraints, quick turnaround times, ensuring their asset maximises its value, using Australian materials, or minimising our environmental impact. Being a small business allows us to work with our customers to ascertain their needs and then provide them with tailored solutions for their projects.
