Meet our Managing Director, David Murchie

What is your role? What do you do?

As company Director, I am the main point of contact for our commercial clients. I go to site frequently to oversee the progress of our projects and make sure everything is being completed to the highest standard. I also work closely with our operations team on our systems, marketing and business development initiatives. I want to ensure that the systems we have in place are making our customer experience as seamless as possible, whilst providing quality building services.

What do you love about the new brand?

Revive Building Solutions is really going to take our business to the next level. "Revive" is bold but simple and instantly tells the customer a lot about what we do - we transform spaces to make them more functional, more liveable, more stylish, or to add value to their homes. We keep our processes simple and use the best tradespeople in the business, so that your project is delivered on time and on budget.

What makes Revive different to other building companies?

We're a small business, with big business capabilities. This allows us to remain flexible throughout our projects and if we hit a speedbump, we can adapt and make changes easily without the red tape, so projects can keep moving. We've been in the construction industry for almost 30 years and we're picky about the trades we use on our projects. Quality and safety are at the forefront of what we do and our trades support those values 100%.

What are some of the interesting projects you’ve worked across?

Some of the concreting resurfacing projects we have taken on have been really interesting. When buildings move, often cracks can appear in beams and walls. The cracks allow air to get into the core of the structure and oxidisation occurs. This weakens the structure overall and can lead to unrepairable damage. We have to work with structural engineers, services technicians and strata to deliver these remedial works to repair and restore these structures and use tailored solutions to help prevent them from recurring. 

What stands out for you in being able to revive spaces via smaller or larger scale building projects?

I think what stands out about Revive is that we can take on anything – whether it’s installing a grab rail, or undertaking a complete renovation with multiple trades, we can allocate our resources to accommodate our customers’ needs. It’s the small business mindset and big business capabilities that makes us unique. Our network throughout Southwest Sydney, the Southern Highlands and Illawarra is extensive, we know the best suppliers in the business which makes us competitive on price and provides a quick turnaround on our jobs.
